David Moeller, Germany's silver medalist in the luge at the 2010 Winter Olympics, had to make an unscheduled trip to the dentist after breaking his front tooth while taking a celebratory bite into the medal.

He said: "The photographers wanted us to bite into our medals at the presentation ceremony, and a corner of my tooth broke off."
