A misinterpreted event |
A footballer who was booked by a no-nonsense referee had in fact dropped dead of a heart attack. Goran Tunjic, a 32 year old defender playing for a Croatian club Mladost collapsed and fell to the ground after being tackled during a 2010 match against Hrvatski Sokola.
The referee, who had warned the teams before kick-off that he would not tolerate any play acting (Diving and etc.), promptly marched across the pitch to the prone player and waved a yellow card at him. He quickly realized his error and summoned medical help but to no avail. It truly is a one of a kind event.
