Couple Got Married, Gibbons Style

Two animal conservationists who met while working with gibbons (monkeys) tied the knot in a gibbon-style wedding ceremony at a Thailand wildfire sanctuary in 2004.

Accompanied by a drum band, groom Sam Lake started by summoning his mate by imitating the call of a male gibbon, whereupon his bride, Norka Russin, responded with happy monkey calls while swinging down from a treetop into his arms. Afterwards, the groom vowed: "Once the gibbon has chosen a mate, it will not philander."
